Yesterday, we went to the house of Nocas´ parents. They are really kind to treat us. And next day, we had a great traditional Portuguese lunch.
The restaurant is located next to their home. It belonged to a old organization. This organization , Compo pena Manique, helps a lot to the poor and their children. They prepared food and clothes to them. It´s generous.
And Nocas´ father is the member of this organization. Because it´s an old organization which owns many lands. They also have a two football field and football team. One team in Porto always come to here to practice when they have game in Lisbon. So this organization needs funds to operate for a long time. The most funds came from rent fees. One gasoline station and this restaurant rent from them. Therefore, they can operate forever.
The restaurant we went provides a traditional Portuguese cuisine. It´s ´Cozido à Portuguesa´. There are pork, pig's ear, beef, cabbage, blood sausages, beans, potato and rice inside. It's really a nice experience to have a traditional Portuguese cuisine.
PS. This restaurant also have a Fado night. If you would like to hear traditional Portuguese music, Fado, come here. You won't regret.
